Harvest Gold is on a Roll!

The summer 2018 season has been going so well for Harvest Gold, that we here in the shop just wanted to write up a quick thank you to everyone who has been coming out to our shows and events and making them such fun events!

We had a fantastic turnout for the first Plein Air Painting Session of the summer! Although the clouds were gray and the wind held a wet chill, we had three artists stop by to paint. Kristen Dill, a Bridgtonite who works in bright colors and loose forms; Mary out of Fryeburg who works in watercolor and acrylics; and Renee, a Lovellite up for the summer! We love that several local artists stopped by to paint with us, and we encourage you to come out and paint too! We shall be hosting these plein air sessions every Saturday through August.

Then Harvest Gold Gallery’s 17th Annual Artist Reception and Open House went off without a hitch! The evening was a joyful affair with many artists and fans alike popping by to check out the summer collection. Artists that stopped by include Bill Housley, Ellen Nelson, Sandra Bell, Robin Taylor-Chiarello, Kimberly Crichton, Sandy Crowell, Ayn Male, among others!

We want to thank Severance Lodge Club for preparing for us several delicious hors-d’oeuvres, which were a big hit all night long! We also wanted to thank our staff who ran the behind-the-scenes all evening: these events could not go on without their faithful and hardworking support.

The second summer Plein Air Paint Painting Session happened on Saturday, July 21st, and we are thrilled that both Sandra Bell and Diane Scott stopped by to paint the day away! Warm and sunny, the conditions were perfect for the artists to capture golden honey tones in their artwork.

That same day was Art in the Park in Bridgton, and thanks to the good weather, great art, and friendly folks that wandered through the park all day long the show was one of our most successful to date.

The next Plein Air Painting Session is this coming Saturday, and will be featuring Varvara Harmon! Stop by to see her work!

Harvest Gold is just filled with joy this summer as we have several new fantastic employees, lots of gorgeous new pieces of art, and friendly customers stopping in every day. We hope this good energy continues on for the rest of the year and we hope to send positive energy in your direction as well. Lots of love and thank you for your continued support!

Our Email is Changing
We are changing our official Gallery contact email from our Fairpoint address to harvestgoldjewelry@gmail.com. Please make note of this change in your contact books! We will be sending out several notices about this change, and we apologize if this causes any inconvenience to you. Thank you!
Summer Love is in the Air!

Summer Love Is in the Air at Harvest Gold Gallery!

Harvest Gold is excited to share that over the past week, Lynda and Bill celebrated their 36th wedding anniversary! And, like any doting parent, we are over the moon to announce that both of the Harvest Gold kids, Carley and Morgan, have become engaged! Carley met her fiancée Jake in Europe, while both were on study abroad programs at Stetson University. They fell in love while riding the trains, and sharing music together!  Carley and Jake have spent they last few months working as freelance photographers and journalists. They have travelled all over the world together, from L.A to Switzerland to Southeast Asia, and are returning home to Lovell this summer. Morgan met Alison while working here in Maine: at the Saco River, to be exact! Over the years they have moved back and forth between Maine and California (Lake Tahoe), and have built a happy life together, with a much-loved dog named Scout. While neither of the happy couples has yet to set a date, we know they will be over the moon to be together no matter what the future may bring.

From left to right: Lynda and Bill, Morgan and Alison, Jake and Carley

Lynda built both Carley’s and Alison’s engagement rings, working with their beaus to produce custom rings from heirloom gemstones and gold. We would love to work with you in a similar process to create custom jewelry to help you build your perfect wedding!

What is the process of building a custom ring?

If you have never customized jewelry before, the process can seem daunting. With so many options as to gemstones, metals, shapes, sizes, and price, it can be easy to get overwhelmed. However, we are here to make the process joyful and stress-free for you! Sit down with Lynda either in shop or through a video call, and we can talk you through the entire process. From initial remarks about your desired look, we will answer all your questions and guide you through the process of building your ring so that it is beautiful and long lasting, all while sticking to your budget.

We can recycle your old family jewelry into something new and beautiful, just for you!

Here are some of our suggestions for a beautiful wedding, no matter the time of year!

Personalized weddings bands made from heirloom or recycled gold, or with local stones to represent the deep, earthly bond between you and your loved one. From rings that surround your finger in a band of never-ending mountains, to braided rings that symbolize your deep ties and connections to your other, the perfect ring for you can be found here at Harvest Gold!

Light and airy bridal jewelry, such as these stunning intertwined 14k gold White Mountain bracelets, to compliment the bride’s smile and to reflect the joy of the occasion. These bracelets can be easily dressed up or down to suit any style of celebration!

Or perhaps a set of two wave bracelets, that when worn together, make calming curves of infinity around your wrist? Representing your never ending love and devotion, these cuffs will become a family heirloom that you can pass down and love for decades to come.

A hand hammered 14k gold linked necklace for the mother of the bride! On this special day, mom deserves to be recognized for her undying love and support of the happy couple.

These sterling silver charm necklaces make the perfect gifts for bridesmaids! We love the two pine trees on this charm representing the soon-to-be-married couple. This pendant will be a sweet and everlasting reminder of this wonderful occasion!

And come to us for all your wedding gift needs! From beautiful handblown glass, paintings of every medium, to rustic wooden sculpture, the perfect heartfelt gift can be found within our walls or gardens.

Whatever your wedding style, we hope that we at Harvest Gold can help you make your wedding sparkle just a little bit more!

                                                                             —Lynda and Bill

Magnolia Blooms in Lovell!

Original publish date: Apr. 12th, 2012

A simple braided band in white gold...
A bridal set...
View from our office today....

With the thrill of spring in the air, and fresh Magnolia blossoms scenting the air at the gallery's window,  we are all looking forward to the upcoming 2012 season which is beginning now. Lynda is busy creating her lovely gold braided wedding bands and Bill has been undaunted in his pursuit of filling the gallery with new pieces. It is like Christmas with many boxes and packages to be opened and put on the walls and shelves as we "oooooo'' and "ahhhhh" over so many fine pieces of art and glassware and numerous "made in Maine" items coming in weekly. We are excited with our new awareness of Pinterest and how much we enjoy seeing the orders come in through Etsy and our website as we are getting global interest in our Maine gallery. Looking forward to seeing you all stop by!

New Terrain Park Manager At Sunday River Ski Resort

Original publish date: Mar. 4th, 2012

Welcome back to the east coast Morgan!
You may notice a few changes to Sunday River's terrain parks: the jump line in Starlight, the whoop-dee-doos in Who-Ville, the smooth layout of Jib Park.  That's all thanks to Morgan Rudd, Sunday River's new Terrain Park Manager.
Morgan grew up just down the road in Lovell, Maine, and learned how to snowboard at age 10 here at Sunday River where he was a natural from the start.  After graduating from Gould Academy, where he competed in snowboarding, he spent four years at Sierra Nevada College studying environmental science and working at Northstar at Tahoe on their terrain parks crew.  That's where he found his niche.
At Northstar, Morgan spent seven years doing all things terrain park, from hand staff (setting up rails by hand) to night shift foreman to building and grooming to snowmaking- a lengthy list of resume builders perfectly suited for any future terrain park manager.  Luckily for us, when Sunday River started looking for a new park manager we were able to snag this Jack-of-all Trades and bring him back east.  Why did he choose Sunday River after being offered several jobs at other resorts around the US?
"I came back because I know the area and it's my home," Morgan says.  "It's My Happy Place."
Morgan certainly brings a fresh perspective to sunday River.  His vision fro Sunday River's future is to bring more progressive builds to the resort's current park scene and to make the parks more family friendly, "but still be fun for the top 10 percent of skiers and riders out there," he states.
For Morgan, it's not just about the features. it's all about the snow quality, which starts with snowmaking .  His past experience as a snowmaker gives him the knowledge to process the snow before building anything in order to make the best product possible.  then it's just maintaining the product with groomers.
"Any day you ride in the park, it will be the best snow out there," he says.  "In parks, we don't have the whole mountain to groom so we get to spend that extra time slowly grooming and putting forward solid quality."
So whether you're hitting Who-Ville for the first time, jibbing your way through Jib Park, or flying through the air in Starlight, be sure to thank Morgan and his Park Crew for all the hard work they put into it.
We love that Morgan will have time in the off season to continue his work in pottery.
Pottery by Morgan Rudd,  painting by Carol Novotne, bronze deer by Michael Tatom all available at Harvest Gold Gallery on route 5 in Center Lovell over looking Kezar Lake and the White Mountains of New Hampshire and Mount Washington.
Cereal Made Interesting

Original publish date: Jan. 29th, 2012

On a recent trip to Florida to do some shopping for Harvest Gold Gallery I had a chance to visit my Dad.
He likes his cereal every day but wants it to be interesting.
So he has started mixing and matching all sorts of brands to create his own special kind.
Thanks Dad for a fun way to start the day!!
The View in Center Lovell

Original publish date: Dec. 18th, 2011

People ask us all the time, "Do you ever get tired of the view?"  And our answers is always: "Never." Bill's new sterling silver cuff frames Kezar Lake nicely, don't you think?
We thought we would just share a few beautiful moments we have witnessed this season here in Center Lovell on Kezar Lake overlooking the White Mountains of western Maine and New Hampshire.
The Mountain ring in 14k white gold and the White Mountains, could you ask for a better background?
The mountains in this sculpture carved out of a moose antler by artist Sherri Medley, mirror the horizon.
Live edge wooden picture frames and bowls, made in America, and the skyline make a natural combo.
Early morning mist and the pink sky,
Add the full moon and some sparkly white snow,
And a new design is born!
Pastel colors with an early season dusting of the white stuff make you feel the frost in the air.
Bill's new Krinkle cuff in white gold is available in yellow gold and sterling silver too.
We always are checking out the view and will keep you posted on as many beautiful moments as we can.  Thanks for a great year here at Harvest Gold Gallery.
Update: The Baby Loon in Middle Bay

Original publish date: Oct. 11th, 2011

With the temperatures in the upper 70s it was a perfect day to get out on Lake Kezar.  Record breaking heat in October was wonderful.
Boat traffic was light on Sunday afternoon and the almost full moon was over the trees on the shore.
The lighting was perfect and the baby looked great!
It was nice to see the parent loon was still playing an active role with the chick.
You can't help but feel fortunate living in Center Lovell watching the mist come in and the loons slice through the water.
Tomato Season at Harvest Gold Gallery!

Original publish date: Sept. 16th, 2011

Fearful we would not have enough tomatoes this year, Bill planted no less than 36 plants!   Now we are picking everyday in 7 different varieties.   Even this funny little one that looks like he has a hat!

Our screen porch is table is covered with great colors and delicious flavors.  Many customers have been seen walking out with a sampling!

After giving away free samples we are still left with quite a few.  We have started making sauce.  In three colors this time.

Come in for a taste of tomatoes!

Who knew making sauce could be so colorful?

Even if it's a bit messy!
Hurricane Irene Hits Harvest Gold!

Original publish date: Sept. 2nd, 2011

This was the scene shortly after noon on Sunday.  We had lost power about 1/2 an hour earlier when there was a huge sound.  Bill and I rushed to see.  The wires were across route 5 and dangling from the Gallery! Our local favorite Tripp Turner was first to try and cross followed by Freddie Wilson.

The wind was still howling!  The power crew didn't make them wait very long.  Within 20 minutes they were there to make the situation safe.

Everything looks better with some sunshine on it!  It was still very dangerous as the broken pole was very hard to see in the trees and the pole ahead looked ominous.

We were greeted by  variety of crews to repair the damage.  They were mostly from New Brunswick Canada and very pleasant, we were very happy anytime they stopped by!
Our neighbors will be very happy too!
By the third day we were very appreciative of all the wonderful people that came together to make the storm so much better than it could have been.  A big Thank You to the Lovell Fire Department for the yummy dinners.
We were sitting in the lake on the dock!!
