Can you believe all this snow?!

This years amount of snowfall has been unbelievable! And we're getting more later today, it is crazy!

The snow banks are so high that we can barely see over them on the road and we can barely see out of our house window the snow is piled so high!

Bill and Captain have been working hard shoveling this year.

On the bright side, they have also been playing hard and have had an amazing year skiing! Bill and Lynda love going out as much as they can to enjoy all of the snow and hope you get the chance as well.

We love the winter and all the fun it brings but we are looking forward to summer!

Careful driving!

~Windy days in Lovell~

We hope it doesn't go to far is it happens again.

Just a reminder, we are open 10-5 everyday! However, around this time of the year business tends to slow down a little bit so Bill and Lynda go on little adventures around town.

Just a reminder, please call first if you want to come in but you aren't sure if we are here.

Oh look, it just blew away again!

Anyway, we hope to see you soon. Have a wonderful day!

February Birthstone: Amethyst

For all of those upcoming February birthdays, here are some interesting beliefs behind the stunning amethyst stone.

The amethyst stone is always a unique and beautiful shade of purple and has a high energy pull to it. It has been called the “all-healer” by those who believe in crystal healing. This variety of Quartz is supposed to be able to still the mind enhancing a meditative state and create a field of protection from negativity. Amethyst wards of psychic attack and ill-wishing and brings back in return energy that has been transformed into something positive and loving.

Amethyst is stone that represents love and a meaning relationship between partners. The crystal is believed to worn by Saint Valentine in a ring engraved with the image of cupid. Wear this crystal as an eternity ring or engagement ring to call back lost love or build a deeper soulful connection. Our rings here at Harvest gold might not be engraved cupid but they have a timeless elegance to them that you or your partner could wear for years.

Happy Birthday to those who are lucky enough to have this stone as their birthstone (including Bill and Lynda!). Come to the Gallery to see more of our amethyst treasures and share your healing stories with us. Hope to see you soon!

Bee Cards

Do you Bee-lieve in change? Artist Cheryl Dunlap does! Which is why she founded Just Bee & Me, a company which donates part of its profits to the save the honey bee foundation. Like honey bees in the wild, Cheryl’s bees are flying off our shelves pollinating our customers with positive messages.

These card are not just adorable and witty they serve a purpose: To Save the bees!  Michael Thielle, beekeeper, calls bees “an indicator species” that reflect “the health and status of our life environment as well as the interdependence and interconnectedness of all life on earth.” The decline of bees in natural habitats an alarming sign that something is terribly wrong. These little creatures have a large job to do. Honeybees are responsible for the pollination of the majority of the food crops that humanity relies on. Without these essential pollinators our food supply is threatened.  Lucky for us, the Save The Honey Bee Foundation is busy working for a solution. Too learn more about the Save the Honey Bee Foundation click the link below. To get your Bee and Me cards come into the gallery and say hello!

Cardinals in the Gallery

Ashanah Here:

Hope everybody is having just as much fun as Ari and I as we shot some wonderful videos for our followers. Lots of laughter as we stumbled through some bloopers. I can’t express how magical the gallery can be while we are working some days; always full of laughter. If you are ever driving by feel free to come say hello and join in.  Every time I work I still always find a new favorite piece of art. Today I caught myself staring at Thomas Merriam’s Cardinal paintings remembering a loved one that past away last spring. Growing up my grandmother was my best friend, and I spent almost every weekend at her house. I have vivid memories of her sitting at her kitchen table watching the bird feeder while reading a book. She spent most of her time chasing off squirrels, but still she would sit there waiting for the cardinal that would sometimes visit.

Merriam's watercolors capture the spunky attitude of the bird that my grandmother adored. To see more of Merriam's wildlife painting visit our website or stop in and see it in person.

One of Ari's favorite artists: Rebecca Klementovich

Hey everyone!

Working at Harvest Gold Gallery has expanded my knowledge of art a lot. I love learning about the artists background.

Such as:

~why they started painting

~what inspires them

~why they are passionate about expressing themselves through art

I really enjoy seeing all the beautiful styles and techniques throughout the gallery. However, one artist that stands out to me is Rebecca Klementovich. I have always been a fan of abstract art, I find her paintings very emotional and equally stunning.

As you can see above in one of my favorite painting's, she captures the contents of an image in such a unique way. It is absolutely breathtaking.

“There is a small thrill, I admit in the state motto of New Hampshire, ‘Live Free or Die.’ To some degree it gives me permission to expand my color palette in representing the mountains, to paint beyond green, brown, and blue skies, to go deeper, to see the layers. The visual state treasure, the alpine glow on the mountain ranges, shows the complexity of the purple mountain majesty which has twenty two variations of purple in it,” Klementovich says. “The mountains deserve at least 20 colors of purple.”

Lilly's favorite painting

Lilly: My favorite painting is “Lupines in the Sunrays” by Varvara Harmon. After hearing Varvara talk about her trek up Mt Washington and stopping to see this beautiful scene of lupines freshly covered with rain just made the painting even better. The realism and the way the light is captured in this painting is

breathtaking.  varvara harmon original oil of lupines
