We are so proud to announce that we will be attending the Lovell Arts and Artisans fair this Saturday August 16th from 9-3pm! While it is our 28th year of having Harvest Gold Gallery it is our 30th year attending the fair - crazy right!? Come out and see a curated selection of our wares from Harvest Gold and to say hi!
Our Beginnings: On the eve of Christmas Eve 28 years ago, Bill and Lynda Rudd (with kids Carley and Morgan in tow) moved into what would become Yankee Magazine’s “Best Gallery in New England” in Center Lovell. Having started to participate in the Arts and Artisans Fair 30 years ago now, at the time while living in Fryeburg, they had no idea they would be making the move to Lovell just a few short years later and be at the heart of the arts community where the fair takes place. The Lovell Arts and Artisans Fair was the first retail experience for Lynda and Bill of Harvest Gold.
Overwhelmed by the beauty of the White Mountains and Kezar Lake, Lynda and Bill couldn’t help but fall in love with the former Severance Real Estate property.
Their jewelry was already known for its beauty and Maine tourmaline; it had been sold to jewelry stores and fine craft galleries all over America for ten years working from their Fryeburg basement. As they worked on their new space, they called upon their friends in the artisan world to begin to expand their array of fine craft and paintings in the gallery.
As the paintings were painted, the sculptures sculpted and the glass was blown, the gallery began looking like a little museum. A current count revealed 200 different artists who have shown or are now showing their special talents in this unique gallery.
Harvest Gold Gallery is now a place where people come from far and wide, not only for the views of Kezar Lake and the White Mountains, but for the beauty inside where every piece is made with love. It was possible because of this wonderful community of artists and art lovers.
