Jean Swan Gordon found her love for drawing and painting flowers while summering in East Boothbay, Maine. She finds flowers special because "As with people, no two are the same" so she works to convey the variety and uniqueness of different flowers. She uses a black ink design on white paper with layers of spirited watercolors to capture the lighting, the life and growth of the flowers, and the velvet essence of the petals.
