Happy Holidays!

~ Harvest Gold Gallery

Let's talk about the meaning behind art!

The artist has the job of living, feeling, and processing a unique experience and then finding a way to express that to others. The viewers may or may not get the same feelings that the art is meant to express, and that is okay! One of the fundamental things about art is how people interpret it differently.

~ "Shifting Tide" Aurora Winkler

Art is the physical manifestation of a mysterious human force: imagination. If it sparks your imagination or puts you in a certain mood, then you feel a connection and you "get it".

There are various perspectives and interpretations about each piece of art. Therefore not every person always appreciates all the beautiful art around them. Everyone can understand a realistic representation of things from real life.

~ "Sunflowers and Blueberries" Kristen Dill

However, it is important to understand there is a deeper meaning beyond the surface. A meaning to spark connection. Wether it reminds the viewer of a lost memory, provides emotional fulfillment, or the viewer just relates to it.

"If art invokes an emotional response, it has done its job"

                                                                                         ~ Bill Rudd

Here at the gallery we love hearing each perspective you have and sharing them with our visitors. So come stop by and enjoy the beauty all around you, and in your everyday life.

More of Carley and Jakes Wedding!

Carley and Jake tied the knot! On September 8th, one of the many beautiful weddings that took place here at Harvest Gold Gallery. With help from our local friends we were able to all enjoy the perfect and memorable day!

Thank you Severance Lodge, Center Lovell Market, Maine Caterer's, Margot Lord, Jen and Justin Fly Away Farm, Big Dave's Bagels, and Bill for the outstanding meals. Thank you Pleasent Point Inn, Mason Cove and The Center Lovell Inn for all of the cozy rooms all of our friends and family stayed at. Finally, a huge thank you to Eastman Hill Farm for hosting the reception and also providing rooms.

The town of Lovell may be small, however there are many activities to do here. While our guests waited for the big day they went hiking up Sabattus Mountain and boating on Kezar Lake. Overall it was an amazing weekend filled with love and laughter.

Hoops Weeks: Clip Ons and Hoop Alternatives

Hoop Alternatives and Clip Ons: And don’t think we forgot about all of you who maybe are looking for an alternative to the traditional hoop! Lynda and Bill both love making chains, and so in turn like to make earrings with similar circular designs. Shown below are a variety of circle earrings that make fantastic alternatives to the basic hoop! Plus, we can add a little extra spunk and pizzazz to a piece -- and make it unique to you -- by customizing the color of 14k gold, the hammered texture, or even by adding pearls or gemstones!

And if you don’t have piercings but still want a classic piece of jewelry to wear, look no further than our synclastic clip on earrings! This pair using the strength of opposing curves to keep the earring tight -- but not painfully so! -- on your ear. The earrings have been rigorously tested for comfortability and the ability to stay on throughout the day. These earrings can be made in a variety of sizes and styles, so contact us to learn more about the possibilities that could await you!

Hoops Month: Loop-d-Loops

Loop-d-Loop Hoops: A fun twist on a classic style, Loop-d-Loop Hoops can be made in both the synclastic and anticlastic styles.

These quirky hoops add a bit of pizzazz to any outfit! Available in both sterling silver and 14k gold, these earrings can be made in a variety of sizes to best suit your style! If you are looking for a gift that a jewelry lover may not already have, look no further than these fascinating earrings. Made of one piece of metal that has been twisted into form, these earrings will be a talking point on every outing!

A Family Wedding Is Coming Soon!

Harvest Gold it thrilled to announce that Carley, Lynda and Bill's daughter, is getting married to the love of her life Jake here in the back yard of the gallery! With the wedding only three weeks away it is growing very hectic here at the gallery... but we are loving every second of the chaos! Carley's engagement band and both of their wedding bands were, of course, made by Lynda and Bill.

Wishing everyone love and joy in these midsummer months!

Rockhounding Around Lovell

Did you know that Oxford County, ME, is one of the most densely populated in the US with gemstones? From tourmaline to quartz, to beryls and micas, gemstones and minerals are so abundant that you can find them even in your local gravel pit or in your backyard!

Looking for stones can be a fun family adventure, where your kids can get outdoors and learn about an aspect of the landscape that they perhaps hadn't studied before! Check out the Greater Lovell Land Trust's website to see if any guided walking tours are being offered soon on the geology of Lovell!

Summer Garden Update

Bill has been hard at work keeping the gardens looking gorgeous as always! Filled with Rudbeckia, Bee Balm, Milkweed, Phlox, Golden Glow, Clover, Queen Anne's Lace, and so much more, the front gardens got a good clean up today.

The backyard gardens, filled with fruit trees and vegetables, are also doing well. With the recent sunshine and rain, the gardens are more verdant than ever!
