Upcoming Event: Plein air with Kris Horten

Come out and paint, learn, or chat with one of our artists, Kris Horten! Kris is new to our Gallery this year, though she has been painting and making art for much longer. Below is an excerpt from an article about her you can catch in the Conway or Bridgeton newspapers!

"Kris is an artist who is relieved to finally have the time, along with her enthusiastic dedication and to devote herself to the joy of making visual art. After a career of art teaching, entrepreneurship, child rearing, she has found her second career in creating in oil and acrylic paint. She describes it as “speaking her heart” through visual storytelling."

Catch us at the Arts and Artisans Fair - our 30th year!

We are so proud to announce that we will be attending the Lovell Arts and Artisans fair this Saturday August 16th from 9-3pm! While it is our 28th year of having Harvest Gold Gallery it is our 30th year attending the fair - crazy right!? Come out and see a curated selection of our wares from Harvest Gold and to say hi!

Our Beginnings: On the eve of Christmas Eve 28 years ago, Bill and Lynda Rudd (with kids Carley and Morgan in tow) moved into what would become Yankee Magazine’s “Best Gallery in New England” in Center Lovell. Having started to participate in the Arts and Artisans Fair 30 years ago now, at the time while living in Fryeburg, they had no idea they would be making the move to Lovell just a few short years later and be at the heart of the arts community where the fair takes place. The Lovell Arts and Artisans Fair was the first retail experience for Lynda and Bill of Harvest Gold.

Overwhelmed by the beauty of the White Mountains and Kezar Lake, Lynda and Bill couldn’t help but fall in love with the former Severance Real Estate property.

Their jewelry was already known for its beauty and Maine tourmaline; it had been sold to jewelry stores and fine craft galleries all over America for ten years working from their Fryeburg basement.  As they worked on their new space, they called upon their friends in the artisan world to begin to expand their array of fine craft and paintings in the gallery.

As the paintings were painted, the sculptures sculpted and the glass was blown, the gallery began looking like a little museum.  A current count revealed 200 different artists who have shown or are now showing their special talents in this unique gallery.

Harvest Gold Gallery is now a place where people come from far and wide, not only for the views of Kezar Lake and the White Mountains, but for the beauty inside where every piece is made with love. It was possible because of this wonderful community of artists and art lovers.

The Tree of Life Jewelry at Harvest Gold Gallery!

These three sterling silver jewelry items all feature a beautiful tree design, portrayed on a ring, a bracelet, and earrings. They are all handmade with love by Lynda, and are an excellent edition to the gallery!

Deciduous trees undergo frequent changes through every season of the year: each spring they grow new buds, each summer their canopies are full with leaves, which change to gorgeous vibrant colors in the fall, only to drop to the ground, leaving bare branches during the winter. Similarly, everything in life is constantly changing, which can be scary or hard. Despite this, there is beauty in change! It helps people grow, adapt, and improve.

This tree of life design symbolizes growth and the continuous changes in life; it can give you a sense of hope that no challenges are permanent, and offer a gentle reminder that better times will come!

How cute is our new newspaper ad?

Hey, if you spend time making it, share it to all platforms. We had so much fun color grabbing teals and mauves from the tourmaline rings made here in house. Look at those Gorgeous colors!

look for us in the Conway and Bridgeton Daily!

Join us for our artist Saturdays! Up next: Kristen Dill and Rebecca Klementovich

Next week featuring: Kristen Dill and Rebecca Klementovich! These two fabulous ladies have decided to have their weekend together - twice the fun!

Two splendid and very different abstracted style, nature inspired artists. Come draw or paint alongside these masters and take in the breathtaking lakeside view in Lovell.

New Artist Alert! Arlene Tift!

In a slight departure from our usual shares of paintings and jewelry (though is it? Harvest Gold has it all...) we have a wonderful new artist in the gallery to share with you: Arlene Tift!

Arlene Tift was born in Montreal to artistic parents and was early on immersed in the world of Quebec artisans. After moving to Ontario, she learned to weave and created numerous tapestries.

In the 1970s, her journey took her to Hong Kong, where she helped design and produce knitwear and outerwear, a practice she continued in Ireland, working with traditional Donegal tweeds.

In the 1980s, Arlene relocated to New York, her passion for textiles led her to study Textile Technology at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), where she learned to work with knitting machines. In 2018, Arlene discovered rug hooking when she encountered hooked rugs on display at Northern Westchester Hospital.

We have four brand new pieces of hers in varying sizes and color palettes, so come on down to Harvest Gold to take a peek at these cozy scenes. And who knows... bring one home?
