Harvest Gold Gallery is pleased to welcome Maine-based artist Sandy Crowell for another day painting out in the garden on Saturday, August 7th. Plein Airs at Harvest Gold encompass wonderful views of Lake Kezar and the White Mountains from the backyard of the gallery, which encourages a featured artist to create beautiful art. All are welcome, whether a seasoned painter or an art enthusiast.
Sandy Crowell specializes in oil painting, and grew up in Massachusetts while summering in Naples, Maine. Sandy began her painting journey at Sierra Nevada University, graduating with a bachelor degree of art in visual arts. Sandy enjoys representing what she observes in the world through art, or “brushes and paint.”
A quote from Sandy Crowell encaptures her feelings about the art she creates, “Changing light and seasons, an expression of joy or sadness, the beauty of form and color all fill me with an urgency to capture that fleeting moment.” To Crowell, painting serves as an opportunity to keep on learning about life. Her favorite part about plein air painting, or painting outside, is feeling at one with nature, influencing the art she creates. Outside of practicing painting, Sandy’s favorite activities to do are hiking, running, and skiing in the cold Maine winters.
It is a pleasure for Harvest Gold Gallery to be able to highlight Maine artist Sandy Crowell this weekend. If you are an art lover or an artist yourself and are interested in seeing Sandy paint, stop by the gallery on August 7th beginning at 10 am. Harvest Gold Gallery is located in Center Lovell, Maine at 1082 Main Street.
