Today was a wonderful day for a plein air- with a nice breeze, it created the ideal day for painting outside! Today we had the pleasure of seeing Kristen Dill in action. Her beautiful use of color and values in her work was a delight to see come together on canvas. 

The perfect scenic day: Kristen started by painting the mountain landscape. She explained how she builds texture with a mix of wax and paint. The finishing touches: some of the final adjustments out in the field for todays first painting for the plein air. 

Here is Kristen starting her second painting of the day, a depiction of two bouquets. She begins to block out the initial shapes of the painting, and the values!
