I use transparent watercolor to capture the ephemeral quality of nature and make it a shared visual experience. Focusing predominantly on organic shapes of fruit and flowers, I layer vibrant color to intensify the viewer's awareness.
Living with a chronic illness, I find the creative process regenerative. The stimuli for my work are emotions as well as unique colors or shapes. The process of painting develops and crystallizes my own insights.
Since completing an Art and English double major in college I have studied with nationally renowned teachers. Recent influences include Jeanne Dobie's color theory and Barbara Nechis' innovative design.
