A professional sculptor for over twenty years, Michael Alfano creates fine art bronzes, portraits, monuments, and public art that is figurative-based, philosophical, and evocative. His sculptures are in galleries, private, collections, parks, and museums worldwide. He first studied sculpting the figure from the model at the Art Students League of New York and has continued with master classes. In juried exhibitions, Michael has earned over 50 awards, including the designation "Sculptor of the Year."
This piece was constructed with six feet of steel rods to create different faces. In the base of the sculpture are blue lights that you are able turn on to cast shadows of human faces in the evening hours. Michael created this sculpture to show different illusions of faces that you would not previously have seen before.
This mixed media sculpture stands at 18" tall x 12" wide x 6" deep.
“The important thing is to not stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing.” by Albert Einstein
InQuestioning Mind, the high relief face is cut away, surrealistically creating a question mark, a hallmark of the human face. Originally created as a wall hanging sculpture, requests for a larger and outdoor versions prompted Michael to re-sculpt it in a bigger format as shown in our gallery!!
